GE15: PKR a happy family after Azmin left, claims Wong Chen
PETALING JAYA – PKR is in a much “happier” position now that former deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is no longer with the party, Wong Chen said in dismissing suggestions of a falling out among its leaders.
Speaking at a forum last night, the PKR central leadership council member said that while differences of opinion exist today, the party remains unequivocally united.
“PKR is not in shambles. Really, seriously. After Azmin left, it’s a happy family now,” he said at the GE15 Forum: A Conversation with Candidates programme, here, this evening.
“My big boss Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and smaller boss Rafizi Ramli may not see eye to eye on many things, but that’s absolutely healthy in a political party.
“When my boss is campaigning in the north, Rafizi is in the south. We are covering a lot of grounds, (these are) two superstars. The tide is in our favour. So, we are not in shambles.”

GE15: PSM’s Bawani hopes to champion downtrodden, marginalised voices
IPOH – While major coalitions have promised a multitude of proposed solutions if they were to win this election, PSM’s Bawani KS has always put her money where her mouth is.
Being the sole candidate for PSM in Perak, Bawani is contesting the state seat of Ayer Kuning in hopes of bringing the voice of the marginalised to the state assembly.
A well-known lawyer in Perak, she has fought on the side of local farmers in land disputes with private entities and state-owned agencies as well as being the go-to labour lawyer fighting for workers’ rights.

GE15: will Nurul Izzah repeat father’s past success in Permatang Pauh?
PERMATANG PAUH – Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Nurul Izzah Anwar says that her coalition is increasing efforts to galvanise constituents to come out and vote in the 15th general election (GE15) this Saturday.
When asked by The Vibes whether she could match her father’s majority in the Permatang Pauh constituency back in 1995, Nurul Izzah shrugged off the question and instead stressed on her party’s efforts in rallying voters.
“We are focused on galvanising voters for GE15, as it is important that they elect a government,” said Nurul Izzah after an event in Mengkuang here today.
Meanwhile, Ammar Muhamad Pauzi, who is an aide in Nurul Izzah’s GE15 campaign, opined that other parties’ tactics of fear-mongering for votes are not effective in deterring support for PH.
“The notion that each vote for Anwar is a vote for DAP is archaic, as ‘votes for Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional are votes for (Datuk Seri Ahmad) Zahid (Hamidi) and (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin)’ could be said as well,” said the former PKR education exco member.
“Fear-mongering the voters by using the sentiment of race and religion will not work as the people are no longer susceptible to it,” he added.

Toss up between BN, PH in Balik Pulau
GEORGE TOWN: The battle for Balik Pulau is shaping up to be a tale of two generations, with older voters appearing to favour Barisan Nasional while the youth want the constituency to remain under Pakatan Harapan.
A number of older Balik Pulau voters said they were concerned about the high cost of living, flooding and the Penang government’s land reclamation plans.
Some even described former prime minister Najib Razak’s tenure as a “golden era”.
Coffee shop worker Wan Ismail, 50, said the 22 months of PH administration were enough for him to decide to vote for BN.

GE15: ‘Zafrul may have funds, but Dzulkefly has our hearts’
KUALA SELANGOR – Dark clouds began emerging over Jeram, while the smell of incoming rain was almost tangible.
Mohd Noor Atan and a couple of other villagers were painstakingly clearing the main swale along Taman Desa Ehsan that was clogged by litter and overgrown plants.
Just a day before, several houses in the small village, which is home to some two dozen families, were inundated in water following continuous rainfall, forcing some of the residents to move to temporary flood relief centres.
Noor Atan knew another downpour would deluge the remaining units in the flood-prone area.
“The rakyat have told those in power not to hold elections now, but they didn’t listen. How do you expect us to go out and vote when our houses and the roads are flooded?
“We can’t even sleep at night these days, afraid that rainwater will creep into our houses,” the exasperated 58-year-old retiree said when met.

GE15: do your duty to save M’sia from PH, BN, Muhyiddin tells voters
AMPANG – It is the duty of all Malaysians to vote Perikatan Nasional (PN) into federal power to ensure the country does not fall into further doldrums in the hands of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN).
This was the message by PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as he rallied for support in a ceramah last night that was peppered by disparaging comments about his political rivals.
Addressing some 500 supporters, the former prime minister painted a picture of what could possibly happen in the immediate hours after polling stations are closed and vote counting concludes on Saturday.
“On November 19, if we win 114 or 115 seats, the Election Commission chairman will call to inform me that PN can form the new government. That is what I’m waiting for.

GE15: Anwar and PPP: Kayveas rides high on sentiment
IPOH – So, what is Tan Sri M. Kayveas doing contesting in Ipoh Barat?
The president of the suspended People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is contesting as an independent for the first time for what he says are sentimental reasons.
“PPP was born right here as the Perak Progressive Party by the Seenivasagam brothers (S.P. and D.R.). Those who were here long enough will remember it and the young will need to be reminded about this once-great party, which was led by these two brothers.
“They served with integrity and diligence which is what PPP stands for,” said Kayveas when met here during his campaign trail.

GE15: a vote for BN or PN is a vote for Najib, Rosmah’s return, Rayer says
BALIK PULAU – Voting for Barisan Nasional (BN) or Perikatan Nasional (PN) in this general election (GE15) will see a return of disgraced former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, said Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Jelutong candidate.
RSN Rayer, who is seeking to defend Jelutong in Penang, claimed that the only way for the convicted couple to return to the limelight is to regain political power.
Speaking at a Pakatan Harapan (PH) ceramah here last night, the DAP man slammed rival coalitions BN and PN, accusing their candidates of doing “nothing substantial” to prevent the systematic abuse in the government they led.
He added that while PN has been criticising Najib and Rosmah, the leaders also worked with BN to form a government after the PH administration collapsed in 2020.

GE15: image of Zahid’s face ripped off BN truck in Sg Buloh
KUALA LUMPUR – An image of Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s face has been ripped off a Barisan Nasional (BN) campaign vehicle in Sg Buloh, where Khairy Jamaluddin is contesting.
The damaged sticker was seen by The Vibes outside the Uptown Kota Dame night market in Kota Damansara here this evening, after images of it made the rounds on social media.
The vehicle, a black Toyota Hilux, was parked behind a mobile stage where Khairy delivered a brief speech after having a walkabout in the area with caretaker prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

GE15: think-tank predicts crushing defeat for Azmin in Gombak
SHAH ALAM – Gombak incumbent MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is now defending his seat under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) banner, is expected to suffer a humbling defeat in the coming general election (GE15).
This is based on a survey conducted by Selangor government-linked think-tank Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE), which found that Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari will likely secure a landslide victory.
IDE executive manager Prof Datuk Mohammad Redzuan Othman said based on the study and assuming a turnout rate of 76.97% of the overall 206,015 eligible voters, PH is predicted to obtain a total of 80,502 votes.
