GE15: DAP claims cash being offered to entice Sibu voters
MIRI – Sarawak DAP GE15 director Oscar Ling alleged that certain parties were giving out money to voters in the Sibu parliamentary constituency, where he is defending his seat.
He claimed that amounts of between RM300 and RM500 are being distributed by certain individuals as part of their “cash for votes” approach.
“There are talks of a party giving out cash and if you are a postal voter, you can collect the money from certain people.
“Is this a clean and fair election?” he asked during his ceramah in Sibu town last night.
Ling is facing a very strong challenge from local Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president and opposition candidate Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, and also from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Clarence Ting who is from Sarawak United People’s Party.

Analyst: Not even PAS can stop Bersatu’s “disastrous” GE15 performance
ALTHOUGH some saw PAS as Bersatu’s saving grace for the 15th General Election (GE15), political analyst Azmi Hassan believes their joining hands won’t do much to alter the course of the once-powerful Bumiputera party’s eventual path to oblivion.
“It will be a very difficult journey for Bersatu on polling day this Saturday (Nov 19) because of one particular (factor): UMNO,” said the Nusantara Academy for Strategic Research senior fellow.
“UMNO is currently riding high and they see Bersatu as a traitor as a whole. So, it’s going to be very difficult for Bersatu because I think all the seats that Bersatu is contesting will see them face either Barisan Nasional (BN) or UMNO specifically.”

GE15 won’t be easy for BN, warns Annuar
PETALING JAYA: Former Ketereh MP Annuar Musa has reminded Barisan Nasional not to think it can cruise to victory at the general election (GE15).
Annuar, who was dropped from BN’s list of candidates for GE15, warned his coalition comrades that youth voters and the political instability since the last general election would play a pivotal part in the Nov 19 polls.

Anwar plays down talk of partnership with GPS
PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Anwar Ibrahim has played down talk that the coalition would work with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) after the general election (GE15).
Anwar said PH’s focus was on winning GE15 and that any discussions with political coalitions will only be held after the polls.
He urged Sarawakians to give the coalition’s candidates a strong voice in GE15 so that it could work together as a “state-federal” team to defend the interests of the people in the state.

GE15: ‘GPS will team up with whoever that can form stable govt’
KUCHING – Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) wants a partnership with any coalition that could form a stable federal government and deliver benefits to the people, GPS secretary-general Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said today.
He said GPS has always prioritised the interests of the people and would not want too many uncertainties like having several prime ministers in one term as happened after the 14th general election.
“Right from the beginning, our mission is to ensure Malaysia is governed by a government of the day that is stable and can focus on the economic recovery as well as to look into all matters for the benefit of the rakyat,” he told a press conference after launching the Sarawak Companies Commission of Malaysia building here.

GE15: Chinese, Indian support for BN increasing, says Zahid
BAGAN DATUK – Support from the Chinese and Indian communities for Barisan Nasional (BN) is showing an upward trend in the run-up to the 15th general election, claimed BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said the upward trend signals that Chinese and Indian voters have suffered enough for choosing Pakatan Harapan in GE14.
“The people must forego and forget the sufferings endured after GE14 and revert to supporting BN and give the party the mandate to form the government.
“Therefore, this is a good development because the voters’ sentiment and support towards BN has reached about 45%,” he told reporters after opening the Balik Bagan Datuk “Jom Balik Mengundi” (Let’s Return to Vote) Fiesta at the Bagan Datuk Waterfront Jetty here today.

GE15: Siti Kasim chides Rafizi over ‘guard Malay feelings’ advice
KUALA LUMPUR – Rafizi Ramli’s advice to non-Malay colleagues in Pakatan Harapan (PH) on how to speak about rival Malay leaders and issues has triggered independent candidate Siti Kasim, who has told the PKR leader to stop talking about race and religion.
Siti, who is running for the Batu parliamentary seat, lashed out in a video on Twitter urging Rafizi to stop harping on racial and religious differences.
“This is the problem that I have been saying all these years, the PKR leadership claims we have to guard the sensitivities of the Malays.
“What about the sensitivity of other races? Who is protecting their feelings?

From “4th Floor Boy” to an UMNO reformist: Can Khairy be trusted?
MR KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin), please explain what you mean by “cleaning up” UMNO?
Khairy Jamaluddin has to state clearly what he meant by membersihkan (cleaning up) UMNO. Is he finally admitting that UMNO is corrupted?
I dare Khairy to be bolder if he is truly a reformist to name the current UMNO leaders whom he thinks are the corrupted lot? Anything less than that shows his lack of political will to walk the talk.
Why he is saying this only now during the GE15 is anyone’s guess but I believe it has to do with the public sentiments against corrupt UMNO leaders who would do anything just to stay in power.

No trouncing for PH in Johor this time, says PKR man
JOHOR BAHRU: A pre-election holiday and the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions means Pakatan Harapan need not fear a trouncing in Johor as in the state elections in March, says a PH candidate.
Akmal Nasir of PKR, who is defending the Johor Baru parliamentary seat, said a low voter turnout in March had led to PH’s defeat.
But now, Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, borders are open and three states have declared a pre-election holiday, allowing Johor voters to return home to cast their votes, Akmal said.
