PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Ahmad Shabery Cheek has called on PAS leaders to clarify leaked documents alleging a plot against top Umno leaders.
Shabery said since the documents involved the leadership of a party that made up the current federal government, it was crucial that an immediate denial be issued if the contents were untrue.
“Will this be a ‘Pasleak’ if there is no denial?” he asked in a Facebook post, citing the 1972 US Watergate scandal and WikiLeaks as prominent examples of political damage from leaked documents.
The leaked documents, which recently went viral on social media, are believed to be minutes of a PAS meeting which allegedly mention a plot to topple and disrupt Umno and Barisan Nasional.

Leaked documents plot to damage ties with Umno, says PAS leader
KUALA LUMPUR: A leaked document purportedly from a PAS meeting, which allegedly mentioned a plot to topple and disrupt Umno and Barisan Nasional, is an attempt to drive a wedge between two parties that enjoy a healthy camaraderie, says a PAS leader.
“We see this as nothing more than a pathetic attempt to slander PAS, and to damage the relationship and camaraderie between the two parties by an irresponsible individual,” PAS central committee member Awang Hashim told FMT.
“I would like to deny the authenticity of the documents. And I would also like to clarify once and for all that there is no such plot taking place. It’s an outright fake and wild allegation.”
The leaked documents are believed to be minutes of a PAS meeting, which include a plan to expedite the sentences of Umno leaders who are either on trial or have been convicted on charges such as criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering.

Zahid’s lawyers to lodge police report over leaked PAS documents
PETALING JAYA: The legal team representing Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in his corruption trial will lodge a police report over leaked documents from PAS that allegedly mention the need for “interference” in court cases involving certain Umno leaders to “hasten their sentencing”.
This was among the claims in the leaked documents allegedly containing a plot to topple Umno leaders and disrupt the party.
The Umno president’s lead counsel, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, said they want the authorities to investigate the matter to determine whether attempts had been made to compromise the integrity of the judicial process.
“The legal team representing Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is both shocked and troubled by the expose on social media over the leaked documents,” he said in a statement.

PAS veep told to solemnly swear there’s no plot against Umno
PETALING JAYA: A Barisan Nasional leader has challenged PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar to take an Islamic oath in denying that his party is plotting to topple Umno leaders.
Specifically, Samsuri is told to utter a “sumpah laknat”, which means he has to be willing to suffer God’s curse if his oath is false.
Selangor BN information chief Isham Jalil issued the challenge during an interview with FMT.

Plot thickens in Malaysia’s corruption trials
Constitutional Supremacy: The Attorney-General Chambers (AGC) officers are fully within their rights to expedite the court cases involving former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
It is abundantly clear that Najib and Zahid are pulling trick after trick to delay the trial by filing multiple applications and taking it all the way to the Federal Court. This is a clear abuse of the judicial process.
Under this circumstance, it is the duty of AGC’s officers to oppose such frivolous applications and ensure that cases are completed within a reasonable time so that justice is served.
AnotherKomentar: The longer the court cases drag on, the likelihood of interference will go up. Justice delayed is justice denied.
The court cluster has deep pockets and let’s not forget Umno’s deep state too – they are all very keen to set some free, to show who really runs Bolehland.
YellowCat1156: Hmmm. Isn't expediting the two court cases what the rakyat want? I can only think of two possible reasons for the news report, and the subsequent conspiracy label.
1. The word ‘expedite’ has been wrongly used, or
2. Expedite it to a conclusion no one wants to see.
Vijay47: The raw unsaid perception in everybody’s mind is that given the reality of local circumstances, “expedite” means, in easily understood terminology, “selesai” (completed).
That is, efforts are being made by certain politicians in cahoots with top legal officers to ensure that certain other politicians do not come to a sorry end in the courts.
I suppose it is understandable that Malaysiakini does not want to say much at the moment as nothing has been confirmed yet. And it surely does not relish the prospect of facing a libel suit.
Nevertheless, very damaging insinuations have been made in the original report by Malaysia Hot that even if proven false, places both the judiciary and the AGC in a terrible light.
The die has been cast, the line drawn, and the Malaysia Hot article can be either true or untrue. Either way, it grievously affects the judiciary’s and the AGC’s standing and somebody has to pay the piper.
The chief registrar of the Federal Court and also the AGC must lodge police reports for the police to begin investigations – Malaysia Hot may find itself on the burner, or some heads, many heads, from the two agencies must themselves face charges.
The weather forecast says we will be having an extremely scorching summer.
