Instagram follower count keeps fluctuating - what's going on?

My Instagram follower count has been going up and down randomly over the past few weeks. One day I gain 10 followers and the next day I lose 15. Is this normal or is something wrong with my account?

That's totally normal and happens to most accounts. Instagram regularly removes fake accounts and bots which can cause sudden drops in followers. Plus people naturally unfollow accounts when they clean up their feeds or lose interest. The frustrating part is not knowing who's leaving or why it's happening. I started using an unfolowers tracker to see exactly what was going on with my account. It showed me that most of the people unfollowing were either inactive accounts or people doing the follow-unfollow game.
