Your vote could stamp out politics of hate, Nurul Izzah tells Penang - superadmin - 08-02-2023 BUTTERWORTH – Reflecting concerns of low voter turnout in the upcoming state polls, Penang PKR chief Nurul Izzah Anwar has called on all registered voters numbering 1.4 million to come out in droves to cast their ballots on August 12. She said it is important to send a message by voting that people will not stand for the politics of hatred. She said that everywhere in the world, opportunists wield webs of lies and slander, as it is easier to do so than to campaign based on the premise of truth. “After all, the truth hurts at times…but it is necessary to ensure that the people know what they need to move progressively forward,” said the former Permatang Pauh MP. She was addressing the audience at the launching of the Penang Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional unity 16-point manifesto at the Penang International Convention Centre here last night. She said that a low turnout is not productive for a state aiming to showcase the achievements of the PH government at the state level. - More - RE: Your vote could stamp out politics of hate, Nurul Izzah tells Penang - superadmin - 08-08-2023 Nurul Izzah strives on to bring message of faith, honesty and reform
BUKIT MERTAJAM – Penang PKR chief Nurul Izzah Anwar continues her struggles despite her stunning loss in Permatang Pauh during last year’s general election, determined to fight the numerous misconceptions about politics in the country.
Instead of ascending to a higher plateau of going into politics to predominantly serve the community, politics has now descended into one riddled with slander, lies, and miscues. And for this, Nurul Izzah sees the need to fight harder, focusing on what counts in the lives of the average person. Nurul Izzah was seen in some of the six states facing elections this Saturday to bring a message of faith, honesty in politics, and most importantly institutional reforms in areas which are badly in need of it. Reforms are needed to fight widespread corruption, abuses of power, and other unjust practices. - More - |
