KUALA LUMPUR – PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has claimed that non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras are the ones most involved in causing corruption.

In a lengthy post on Facebook, Hadi said corruption had roots, akin to stagnant water that allowed mosquitoes to breed.

“Preventing dengue is not just about treating the patient and killing mosquitoes, we must also clear the stagnant water that breeds mosquitoes.

“It is the same with efforts to deal with the disease of corruption. It must be done holistically so that it does not become an epidemic if its roots are not treated comprehensively.

“In particular, action must be taken against those who are the cause of corruption by pursuing illegal wealth.

“It is among them, who control the country’s economy and use it to destroy politics, the administration and the judiciary. In fact, they are also the biggest group damaging the country’s politics and economy, the majority of them being non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras,” Hadi said.

Racism rears its ugly head in PAS
[Image: Ramasamy-Hadi-Awang.jpg]
From P Ramasamy

PAS president or religious supremo Abdul Hadi Awang never ceases to amaze me with his nonsensical, racist and extremist remarks.

Yesterday, he came out with his latest theory saying that the root cause of corruption in the country was the non-Malays and not the Malays.

He said it was the non-Malays, with control over the economy and politics, that made the Malays become corrupted and mired in financial scandals.

According to Hadi, the non-Malays also take more interest in politics by coming back from abroad to vote in the elections. However, this was not the case with the Malays who are not politically inclined.

He went on to say that the non-Malays, by their pervasive engagement and involvement in business and entrepreneurship have taken control of the economy to the extent they can dictate terms to the Malays.

His conclusion was that the Malays are corrupted only because of the nefarious influence of the non-Malays.

No sound mind links graft with race, religion: govt parties rip into Hadi
[Image: 20220821_chong_sin_woon_Chong_Sin_Woon_-...%BB_fb.jpg]

KUALA LUMPUR – Several parties in the federal government did not mince their words as they launched scathing rebukes of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s tasteless remark that non-Muslims contribute majorly to corruption.

Calling the claim “gutter nonsense”, MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon demanded that Hadi retract his statement.

PAS is itself a component of the bloc ruling Putrajaya, and Hadi is Malaysia’s appointed special envoy to the Middle East, a ministerial-level position.

Chong warned that baseless slander such as this could potentially stir up hatred, distrust, and misunderstandings against non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras.

“Hadi’s remarks warrant a rebuke and must be withdrawn. It cannot be emphasised enough that no reasonable person of sound mind would nor could ever link the issue of graft with race and religion.

“Such misinformation is appalling, more so when they hail from a politically seasoned leader,” he said in a statement today.

Chong pointed out that Hadi failed to corroborate his accusations with fact, analysis, or evidence.

“Corruption has nothing to do with race and religion. This is an obvious fact and basic common sense,” Chong added.

RM90 Million Hadi Blames Non-Malays For Corruption – A Moronic Excuse To Blame Chinese For Najib’s Corruption
[Image: 1MDB-Scandal-Hadi-Awang-and-Najib-Razak-...hinese.jpg]

Abdul Hadi Awang, president of Islamist party PAS, has revealed yet another mind-blowing theory – the root cause of corruption was not the fault of Malays, but the non-Malays. With his brilliant twisted formula, he has basically legitimized corruption for ethnic Malay. Now, Malays do not need to feel ashamed about accepting – or asking – bribes because it’s always the non-Malays’ fault.

According to Mr Hadi, who himself had accepted RM90 million bribes from former Prime Minister Najib Razak, Malays become corrupted because non-Malays control the economy. Comically, he concludes that only the Muslim faithful have integrity and cannot be corrupted. Did he just admit that he isn’t a good Muslim, or that he sucks at economy so it’s perfectly fine to accept bribes?

Perhaps Hadi can explain why DBKL officers (100% Malays) have been actively visiting Chinese shops asking for “protection money”. The best part is, even Malay women officers wearing hijab were part of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall team during trips to Chinese-owned restaurants and even shops selling pork. Is Hadi going to spin that it was the Chinese who pressured DBKL to come and collect bribes?

Malay DAP leaders hit out at Hadi for pinning corruption on non-Muslims
[Image: Young-Syefura-Syahredzan-Sheik-Umar.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: Three Malay leaders from DAP have hit out at Abdul Hadi Awang for linking corruption to race after the PAS president cast non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras as being at the root of corruption.

DAP central committee members Young Syefura Othman, Syahredzan Johan and Sheik Umar Bagharib Ali asked Hadi to explain why the country’s corruption perception index (CPI) ranking was worse than non-Muslim countries although PAS had been in the government since 2020.

TI-Malaysia condemns Hadi for racist statement, says corruption colour blind and affects all
[Image: 43218.jpg&w=800&q=100&f=jpg&t=2]

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 — Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) today chided PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over his racially provocative claim that most of the corruption rate in Malaysia was contributed by non-Muslims and non-Bumiputera.

TI-M said corruption is colour blind and affects everyone.

"They have a narrow and myopic view of corruption and create feelings that are contrary to the concept of ‘Malaysian Family’ by the prime minister.

"Such comments made in a multi-racial, ethnic and religious democracy are deplorable, racist, defamatory and potentially inflammatory.

Hadi and the need for responsible leaders
[Image: a-kathirasen-new-latest-290821-1.jpg]
On Aug 31, we’ll be celebrating 65 years of Merdeka. Yet, we see leaders, so-called leaders and some individuals sowing hatred or disunity among citizens of various ethnicities in Malaysia.

I read a report on July 1 that said hate speech was on the rise in Malaysia. The report said an artificial intelligence driven hate speech tracker called #TrackerBenci, developed by the think tank The Centre, recorded 2,740 “hateful” tweets in March. The number rose to 3,088 in April but dropped slightly to 3,004 in May.

Although hate speech is never acceptable, sometimes we can understand an ordinary person who doesn’t know better writing or saying something in anger or frustration on the spur of the moment. But not when it comes to leaders and those who claim to be leaders or want to be leaders.

This is because some people emulate their leaders, just as some follow the fashion sense of movie stars.

Did PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang consider this before his recent utterance?

Non-Muslims the root of corruption? Is this ‘Keluarga’ Malaysia?
[Image: shankar-r-santhiram-columnist-new-170321-1.jpg]
How many police reports would have been made nationwide, by all the ultra-patriotic Bumiputera groups, if a non-Muslim minister, politician or observer made a public statement that ‘Malay-Muslim-Bumiputeras’ are at the root of all corruption in Malaysia?

It is quite plausible that by now, investigations would have been started on the people making such remarks. And, rightly so.

But this is exactly what a senior politician and party leader said about non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras. Yet, there seems to be no investigations whatsoever.

On Aug, 20, it was reported in the mass media that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang wrote on his Facebook page that “…groups who chase illicit gains are the ones who eventually control the economy. They then damage our politics as they are the roots for corruption and the majority of them are non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras”.

While there is no doubt that Malaysians of all races have been implicated in corruption scandals, to single out ‘non-Muslim and non-Bumiputeras’ as the majority of the culprits, without providing any evidence, is atrocious and more than damaging to our national unity.

Where are the investigations on this matter?

With this statement, the PAS president, who is a senior cog in our current coalition government, is claiming that non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras are not capable of acting with integrity and therefore cannot be entrusted with leading Malaysia as a corrupt-free nation.

ADUN SPEAKS | System permits Hadi to spew racist venom
[Image: ed3fe40c83916fa5ce4ba5e3ddbc5cc3.jpg=s800]

ADUN SPEAKS | Some years ago, PAS had some pretensions of a religious party, but all of that has evaporated in the cauldron of racial politics.

PAS leaders, especially under the leadership of its president Abdul Hadi Awang, are aware of the definite limits of pursuing a completely religious ideology, although religion and ethnicity are coterminous with the Malays.

They are also aware that the pulse of politics is ethnicity and how this can be pushed to the maximum to be relevant in politics.

PAS leaders are a bunch of racists and extremists - they fully realise that even if Islam coincides with the Malays in the country, a religious approach to politics might not get the votes.

Charge Hadi for blasphemy on claims against non-Muslims: Ramkarpal
[Image: ramkarpal_singh_roketkini_dot_com_pic_26072021.PNG]

GEORGE TOWN – PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang can be charged for some form of blasphemy after accusing non-Muslims of being responsible for widespread corruption in the country, said DAP’s legal bureau.

Its chief Ramkarpal Singh said in a statement that Hadi’s remarks “were not based on any evidence or empirical studies and were basically made to play to the gallery and instil in the minds of some the myth that non-Muslims seem to be the root cause of one of the most heinous of social ills, corruption”.

He also urged the attorney-general to charge Hadi under Section 298A and Section 504 of the Penal Code “without fear or favour”.
