KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Former PKR MP Rafizi Ramli today announced his comeback to active politics.
Once seen as PKR’s rising star, Rafizi, who withdrew from active politics in 2019, today said he is returning to the political arena to help his party and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition draw more supporters for the next general election. The former Pandan MP said that he would also be running for the position of PKR deputy president in the coming party elections in April. “In my view, with the latest developments, multi-racial progressive politics is in jeopardy if PKR and PH continue to be the third coalition after failing to lure voters who are on the fence. - More - RE: Rafizi Ramli seeks return to active politics. running for PKR No, 2 - superadmin - 03-16-2022 Timing of Rafizi’s return perfect for PKR rejuvenation, say analysts

LETTER | A few moments ago, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has announced his intention to be active again in the political arena, making the first step by offering himself to run for the deputy president in the party election.
This announcement was eagerly awaited by all his supporters, inside and outside the party. Our friendship extends beyond the political world. Thank you, my friend, Rafizi, for believing in this friendship.I am one of the few friends who have interacted and communicated with him since Dec 10, 2019, which is the date of his announcement to take a leave from the political arena. During this period, despite talking less about politics, he was very comfortable discussing the problems of ordinary people. - More - RE: Rafizi Ramli seeks return to active politics. running for PKR No, 2 - superadmin - 03-17-2022 Analysts: Rafizi’s return will reinvigorate PKR, but expect turbulence ahead with Pakatan partners, DAP and Amanah
KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — Rafizi Ramli officially ended his three-year hiatus from Malaysian politics on Tuesday with the announcement that he would be running for PKR deputy president when party elections take place in April.
The former PKR strongman also said that he was coming back to help his party and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition attract more supporters. Some view the return of the one-time Pandan MP — who is known for his strong stance against corruption, as well as for taking the lid off a number of high-profile controversies — as a good step forward for PH to win back voters come the 15th general election (GE15), which many believe Barisan Nasional (BN) will be pushing for following its thumping victory in the recently concluded Johor state polls. With all this in mind, Malay Mail spoke to several political analysts and researchers to find out what Rafizi's reemergence really means for PKR and PH. - More - RE: Rafizi Ramli seeks return to active politics. running for PKR No, 2 - superadmin - 03-17-2022 Saifuddin to take on Rafizi for PKR No. 2 post
PETALING JAYA: The battle for the No. 2 post in PKR will likely be contested by party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and vice-president Rafizi Ramli, says a source in the know.
“Farhash is unlikely to contest if Saifuddin does. He’ll help Saifuddin’s campaign,” said the source, referring to Farhash Wafa Salvador, the former aide to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim. Farhash has been critical of Rafizi after the former Pandan MP announced his return to active politics as well as his decision to run for the PKR deputy president’s post again in this year’s party elections. - More - RE: Rafizi Ramli seeks return to active politics. running for PKR No, 2 - superadmin - 03-18-2022 Join Gerak Independent, we have no baggage, co-founder tells Rafizi
KUALA LUMPUR – Gerak Independent’s (GI) co-founder Mohd Tawfik Ismail extended an open invitation to former PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli to join the movement of non-partisan politicians.
Weighing in on Rafizi’s recent announcement about returning to active politics, Tawfiq said the voters in the recent Johor elections, and those who refrained from casting ballots to severely punish “those with no integrity”, are the harbingers of the next general election (GE15). In a statement last night, he suggested that Rafizi, also a former Pandan MP, cut ties with the PH component and run as an independent instead. “Nothing is going to change unless the key people in the opposition themselves change for the better, and work deliberately and urgently now to change their party’s standing,” Tawfik, who is a former Sungai Benut MP, said. “If you think that it is beyond the capabilities of PKR to change with the times, then please come join us as an independent in Gerak Independent.” Tawfik, the son of former deputy prime minister Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, said that unlike PKR, GI is just getting started and does not carry any baggage. He also insisted that GI is striving for the integrity of votes by “focusing on the individual’s commitment to integrity and principles and effective change, rather than party promises and compromises”. - More - RE: Rafizi Ramli seeks return to active politics. running for PKR No, 2 - superadmin - 03-27-2022 Who will be Rafizi’s running mates for PKR polls?

PETALING JAYA: Rafizi Ramli can help in the endeavour to make Anwar Ibrahim prime minister if he were to become the PKR president’s deputy in the party, said a youth leader.
PKR Youth secretary Ahmad Syukri Ab Razak said Rafizi should be given the chance to serve as Anwar’s deputy as the former Pandan MP would also be able to restore people’s confidence in the party and Pakatan Harapan. “There’s no doubt that Rafizi can shoulder this responsibility (as deputy president). His return to politics has brought optimism inside and outside PKR. It would be a loss if he isn’t given the chance to be Anwar’s deputy. - More -
