After more than 8 years with coils and heavy rotary machines, I finally gave in and tried a tattoo pen – specifically the Ultron 4 Pro Money Maker from Vlad Blad. It completely changed how I work. The pen format feels way more natural, like holding a marker, and that’s made my lines more confident and my shading smoother. The 4.0 stroke hits hard enough for solid fill, but it’s still gentle on the skin. It’s powerful, consistent, and feels lighter even during 6-hour sessions. I honestly didn’t expect to love the pen format this much, but now I use it for 90% of my work. It’s quiet, efficient, and doesn’t stress my wrist like before.
