Singaporean TikToker to Tun M: Don’t you dare undermine Singaporean Malays
Posted by: superadmin - 10-23-2023, 04:36 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

IF ever there is a vote for who is the greatest rabble rouser in Malaysia, perhaps Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad would win the grand prize. A netizen going by the moniker zsm commented on Tik Tok: “Dr Mahatir memang batu api” (Dr Mahathir is truly a rabble rouser).

To be fair to the twice former Malaysian premier, this should not be the way how the citizen of another country treat an elderly statesman nonagenarian; however, with his recent utterances that incensed even a Singaporean, Dr Mahathir received a severe tongue lashing from the Malay youth.

It is good that Dr Mahathir is no longer the prime minister (PM), otherwise, the relationship between Malaysia and Singapore would be severely strained once again.

What a shame!

Indirectly ostracising Dr Mahathir’s unbecoming behaviours despite his age, a TikToker going by the name Mozzy67 asked when the former Langkawi MP would go into ‘permanent’ retirement and stop playing on politics in Singapore for his personal agenda.

Mozzy67, who is probably in his 30s or one-third of Dr Mahathir’s age, spoke up on behalf of the Malay community in Singapore whom Dr Mahathir claimed “had lost their command of their mother tongue”.

Speaking in perfect Malay, Mozzy said that the national anthem in Singapore is in Malay. Referring to the present prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, Mozzy said “despite being a Chinese, Lee’s Malay is 10 times better than any Malaysian politicians” besides also having a good command of the English language, Mandarin and Tamil.

  Social Media Hack
Posted by: mahreen - 10-23-2023, 02:38 PM - Forum: Computer Software - Replies (1)

Social media hacks often occur due to weak passwords, phishing attacks, or security vulnerabilities in social media platforms. To protect yourself from social media hack, it's crucial to use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts, enable two-factor authentication where available, and be cautious about clicking on suspicious links or downloading attachments from unknown sources. Regularly updating your passwords and being mindful of the permissions you grant to apps and services can also enhance your security on social media platforms.

China's military power only makes those with malicious intent feel 'threatened'
Posted by: superadmin - 10-22-2023, 02:24 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

The US Department of Defense (DoD) released its annual report to Congress on "Military and Security Developments Involving the People's Republic of China" (China military power report) on Thursday. People familiar with China-US relations know that since 2000, the Pentagon has issued this report every year, which basically compiles some public information, including media reports with unknown sources, into a "collection of annual China threat theories" in a bid to request funding from Congress and deceive allies into buying US weapons. As a result, one can imagine the level of professionalism in this report.

The China military power report can be roughly divided into three parts. First, it assesses China's current military capabilities without any real basis. Second, it selectively hypes China's military activities over the past year. Third, it distorts and speculates about China's military intentions. This year's report has an additional section - complaints about China's "resistance" to military-to-military communications with the US.

By combining these factors, the US attempts to fabricate a terrifying image of China, whose military strength is rapidly increasing, military behavior is becoming more aggressive, and "military ambitions" are insufficiently transparent. All the malicious speculations and smears about China's military in the report are far from the reality of China's military situation, but instead resemble a reflection of the US military itself.

PETALING JAYA: EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) plans to establish an automotive manufacturing facility in Melaka to serve as a production hub for energy-efficient vehicles (EEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia.

In a statement today, the group said the facility, with an investment of over RM100 million, will be developed in several phases at the Hicom Pegoh Industrial Park in Alor Gajah, Melaka.

According to EPMB, the project will create about 1,000 new jobs in Melaka and the facility’s first phase will have a capacity to produce 30,000 vehicles a year.

EPMB is engaged in the manufacturing of metal-based and plastic-based automotive components, and the distribution of automotive parts.

Focus on manufacturing led to neglect of agricultural sector, says economist
Posted by: superadmin - 10-20-2023, 11:35 AM - Forum: Business. Economy and Investment - No Replies

[Image: 325418eb-pertanian-bernama-191023-1.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: The recent, although minor, threat to food security is a result of the previous administration’s “enthusiasm” to transform Malaysia into a “manufacturing nation”, says an economist.

Madeline Berma of Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (Masa) said this shift of focus has resulted in the marginalisation of agriculture, now starkly apparent as the majority of food resources are imported from abroad.

It was recently reported that the annual value of food imports into the country has surged to RM62 billion, up from RM48 billion the year before, because of rising demand and foreign exchange considerations.
