I'm currently in the process of selecting a research consulting firm to assist with a major project for my company. Given the critical nature of our work, I want to make sure I choose a firm that will provide the highest quality of research and insights.
I've heard about various research consulting firms but I'm not sure what criteria I should be focusing on when making my decision. Here are a few questions I have.

Experience and Expertise: How important is the firm’s experience in my specific industry? Should I prioritize firms with a broad range of expertise or those that specialize in my field?

Client Reviews and Case Studies: How reliable are client reviews and case studies presented by these firms? Are there any red flags I should look out for?

Methodologies and Tools: What research methodologies and tools should a top-notch consulting firm use? How can I assess their effectiveness?

Cost vs. Value: How do I balance the cost of services with the value provided? Are there any benchmarks for pricing in the industry that I should be aware of?

Communication and Support: How important is it to have ongoing communication and support from the consulting firm? What level of involvement should I expect?

Long-Term Partnership: Should I be thinking about a long-term partnership or is it better to engage on a project-by-project basis?
I would really appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Selecting the right research consulting firm is crucial for the success of our project, and I want to make sure I’m making an informed decision.
Thanks in advance for your help!
