PETALING JAYA: MCA has resolved to implement strategic reforms to make future breakthroughs in general elections after being thrashed in GE15.

In one of the 18 resolutions adopted at the party’s general assembly, held behind closed doors, party members called for an in-depth evaluation of MCA’s election performance so that it could reform itself to regain voters’ support.

The party, a member of Barisan Nasional, was humiliated in the November polls when it only won two of 44 parliamentary seats contested, in Ayer Hitam through its president Wee Ka Siong while Wee Jeck Seng retained his Tanjung Piai seat. Both seats are in Johor.

The party also controls seven state seats.
