PETALING JAYA: PAS under Abdul Hadi Awang is a different party from the one led by its past leaders, Anwar Ibrahim said following the latest claim by the Marang MP against Pakatan Harapan.

The opposition leader said views of the late Nik Aziz Nik Mat and Fadzil Noor would differ from Hadi, who claimed yesterday that PH was a coalition that gave and took bribes.

Hadi also said those in PH were immoral and not religious.

“Ustaz Hadi, Ustaz Hadi, I shall not say much, but he did label others infidel,” Anwar said at a ceramah in Kuala Pilah last night, referring to the time when Hadi branded Umno members as infidels.

The more Hadi speaks, the better for us, says Amanah No 2

SEREMBAN: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s recent statements have only served to benefit Amanah, says its deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.

In a speech at the Wanita Amanah convention, Salahuddin accused the PAS leader of considering himself “holier than thou”, while others were deemed “dirty and disgusting”.

“The more the PAS president speaks, the better for us. If we could, we would pay him to talk all the time,” he jibed, without elaborating on specific statements from Hadi.

The Pulai MP said he had hoped that Hadi would work on strengthening the good values in the Malay community, but lamented that Hadi had instead brought about a culture of calling others infidels.

Work with ‘non-extremist non-Muslims’ to stop PH win, says PAS man

KUALA LUMPUR – PAS can work with non-Muslims who are “not extremist” in order to prevent Pakatan Harapan (PH) from winning the 15th general election, the Islamist party’s central committee member Datuk Mahfodz Mohamed said.

He said voters should reject PH and choose Perikatan Nasional (PN), the coalition PAS is in with Bersatu, Gerakan and Sabah-based parties SAPP and STAR.

“If possible, in my view, Malay-Muslims and non-Muslims who are not extreme should unite with PN in this election, not just PAS, Umno, Bersatu, but also other parties in Sabah and Sarawak.

“This is because PN was able to topple PH with the most votes in Parliament even though it was not through an election.

YOURSAY | Hadi is in full panic mode

Apanama is Back: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, you made a mistake here when you called Pakatan Harapan leaders "non-believers and immoral".

As a so-called Tuan Guru (religious teacher), you should know what was mentioned in the Quran. Let me remind you of one of the verses:

Surah Al-Hujurat 11: "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them.

“And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.”

Hadi, go and read these verses.

OCT: Religion is about the vision of the next world. Politics is about a vision for our children and grandchildren.

Malaysia is facing lots of real challenges, such as food security, ringgit depreciation, high living cost, human capital underdevelopment, corruption and last but not least, religious intolerance.

Now is the time to select the best party with the right, honest politicians with a clear vision to try to mitigate the problems that Malaysia faces.

It is a tall mountain to climb, but climb we must.
