BIRMINGHAM: Men’s top singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong looked a beaten man after the first game before producing a sensational comeback to send India’s Kidambi Srikanth packing 13-21, 21-19, 21-10 in the men’s semifinal of the Commonwealth Games.
Having succumbed to Tze Yong 19-21, 21-6, 16-21 in the second match of the mixed team final on Tuesday, Srikanth again found the world No 42 a tough nut to crack at the National Exhibition Centre.
Tze Yong endured a shaky start as Srikanth shot off the blocks to claim a 21-13 win in the first game, leaving the Malaysian wondering what had hit him.
But Tze Yong is made of sterner stuff these days.
