PETALING JAYA: DAP has called on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to provide more information about its investigations into corrupt practices during the Covid-19 pandemic.
MACC chief Azam Baki yesterday revealed that the anti-graft agency had opened investigations into bribery in the procurement of medical services, fraud related to the supply of medical protective equipment, and abuse of power in distributing aid and stimulus packages during the pandemic.
DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook today urged Azam to be more transparent in this matter and provide the public with more information such as which ministries and departments were involved.
He said the public wanted to know “whether the cases involve ministers or deputy ministers, the value of corruption, and so on”.
