KUALA LUMPUR: National men’s singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong won the Scottish Open 2021 in Glasgow last night for the fourth international title of his career.
In an all-Malaysian final, the 21-year-old beat senior and former national teammate Soong Joo Ven 21-18, 21-14 in 50 minutes to clinch his third crown of the year, according to the Badminton World Federation’s official website.
Tze Yong, who made his Thomas Cup debut last month at Aarhus, Denmark, had also won the 2019 South Australia International, 2021 Polish Open and 2021 Belgian Open.
The world No. 62 will next play in the Welsh International, where he will open his campaign against Subhankar Dey of India on Thursday.
