Full Version: Best Running Belt for Long-Distance Training?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to invest in a running belt for long-distance training and want to make sure I pick the right one. My main priorities are comfort, secure fit, and enough storage for essentials like keys, phone, and energy gels.

I’ve noticed some belts bounce a lot or chafe during longer runs. Has anyone found a running belt that stays snug without causing discomfort? I’m also curious about hydration options. Should I go for a belt that can hold a small water bottle or rely on separate hydration packs?

Any brand recommendations or tips would be appreciated!
Hi!

I’ve tried a few running belts for long distances, and here’s what worked for me. Look for belts with wide, elastic, and adjustable straps. They really help reduce bouncing and chafing. Pockets that stretch are great for phones and gels, as they hold items snugly without adding bulk.

One belt I’ve found really comfortable and reliable is the STRYQ Running Belt. It stays snug even during longer runs and has enough storage for essentials without feeling bulky.
For hydration, it depends on your run length. If you’re doing 5 to 10 miles, a belt that can fit a small soft water bottle is usually enough. For longer runs, a separate lightweight hydration pack might be more comfortable.

Brands I’ve had good experiences with are FlipBelt, Nathan, and SPIbelt. They’re durable, minimal, and stay in place.
